Lucky Boys Confusion Interview

Off of a tiring tour schedule, Adam of LBC had some time to answer questions about the future of the band, new material and touring.

Lucky Boys Confusion Interview

You are working on some new material right now. What kind of direction is it going in? How is it different from past songs?

Adam: Its hard to say. I think we are way to close to the music to make an honest assessment. At this point, it would be really easy to go "Yeah man, its a more mature sound. We are like getting in touch with ourselves blah blah blah", but im not sure. I do know that I haven't been this excited in a long time. Its really honest. Its us.

Are there any working titles on the songs? Is this the start of a new album?

Adam:Yes we are working on writing our second album. Although it could be awhile before the fucker comes out. Working titles; Atari, Blame, Medicine and Gasoline, Mr. Wilmington, Something to Believe, The Evidence. All new songs.

Can you describe what it is like for you to perform in front of people as a job?

Adam: Enjoyable. Bus tour; Wake up at 3:00PM, soundcheck, eat, shower(optional), perform, hang out with friends/fans, drink, get kicked out of the bar/party/restuarant, wake up on bus in next town in front of next venue. Can't complain. For this next tour we have two vans instead of a bus. That just means you add hotels into the equation.

Last years Warped Performance was mind blowing. Did you ever expect that kind of reception and energy (at the show)?

Adam: We never know what to expect. Each crowd is different from the last. All the Warped Tour dates we did were incredible. A really friendly vibe everywhere, and we got to hang out with some of our favorite bands.

What do you do to get lyrics/melodies? Write based on the mood you are in?

Adam: Kaustubh and I get together almost everyday to write the songs. Usually one of us will come in with an idea and we'll work it our from there. Sometimes he will come in with a song like "One to the Right" and I'll just make a couple little changes and its good to go. Other times Ill come in with "You can call it anything you want the fact remains the same i never got to be your something something." And he'll be like, "dude, I got a great idea!" Its always different. Then we take it to the band and we all work out the arrangement.

Do you ever get "burnt out" and just stay away from music for a while? What do you do to take your mind off of music matters?

Adam: No.

What direction do you see the band going in musically?

Adam:It just seems more focused. Less erratic. More Loud.
