Mighty Mighty Bosstones Interview

Question: How did you all meet?

Dicky: A men's spa. I was in an Off Broadway production of The King I. It was in Boston. At the time, Joe had a small, but up-and-coming interior decoration bussiness of his own. Ben was wayward at the time. He was doing random things, like a flower store. He was a lost soul. Vegas was dancing in an all male revue. But we all had our place, we went to this bath house it's not there any more, most of them aren't.

Question: How would you feel about headlining or playing the Warped Tour?

Dicky: Yeah, It would be cool if we were. We played it last year. I think Rancid, Pennywise, right there. The B team, A & B. It leapfrogs. If Rancid is on, we are not. Having nothing to do with Rancid.

Question: How do you go about making an album(lyrics to music? vice versa?)?

Dicky: It's hard to say. Horse, cart. Cart, horse. You have peanut butter and light chocolate, and light chocolate and peanut butter. Who knows? It's apples and orangutans really.

Question: Where do you like to play?

Dicky: Chicago. We love Chicago. We've never had a bad time in Chicago. All the shows here have been terrific. Boston, we like Boston. Tokyo, Japan is great. Terrific. Hamburg Germany is a great place. Certain towns in upstate New York that are terrific. Northern California. San Jose and those parts. If California was my arm, like around the bicep I would say is great. Australis too. Panloon California, we haven't been there but are looking forward to it. Memphis, Tennessee. We had a really good time there one time. Florida, Miami although we only played there once. St. Petersburg. Bottom of the Hill in San Franscisco, Top of the hill and middle of the hill in Clevland. The Over the hill while were at it. I don't think we've ever been to Spain or South Dakota, parts of Mexico. A lot of parts, all of Mexico besides Tijuana. We've never been to Nome Alaska.

Question: What are some of the bands you like to tour with?

Dicky: The Slackers, The Pietasters, The Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly. Pennywise, NOFX. Kicked In the Head. The Explosion. Mustard Plug. The Specials. The Clash. We would to tour with the Rolling Stones, The Beatles. U2 would be a dream. Ritchie Valens. That would have been terrific.

Question: How did you get into playing music?

Dicky: I don't really know. Im getting tired. That last question was very insulting.

Question: What part of your shows do your suits play?

Dicky: Its just something we wear you know. Something to seperate ourselves from the rest of the people.
